BIO:
Ke Li is professor at Shandong University. Ke earned his Ph.D. in rhetorical studies from Shanghai International Studies University, his M.A. in cognitive linguistics from Qufu Normal University, and his B.A. in English education from Qufu Normal University. His research and teaching interests are in western rhetoric and cognitive linguistics. He is the author of A Study of Metonymy through the Lens of Rhetorical Criticism. He has published some essays on such famous linguistic journals in China as Foreign Language World, Foreign Language Teaching, Modern Foreign Languages. His essays have dealt with topics such as rhetorical criticism, critical metonymy analysis, and metonymy studies.
He has taught Basics of English Linguistics and Western Rhetoric at School of Translation Studies, Shandong University since 2012. The philosophy rooted in his teaching is the incorporation of theory into practice, which is widely welcomed by his students and thus earns him one of the most popular teachers on campus.
