BIO:

Guo Quanzhao is lecturer at Shandong University. He graduated from Nanjing University as a Ph.D. in comparative literature and world literature, from Shanghai Normal University as a M.A. in British and American literature, and from Shandong University at Weihai as a B.A. in English language and literature. His research interests include foreign literature and western aesthetics, and he teaches courses in college English, E-C translation and literary theories. He is the author of The Rose and the Snail: A Study of Umberto Eco’s Aesthetics (to be published in 2020). He has published some essays on various journals in China such as Literature & Art Studies, Yellow Sea Academic Forum, Journal of Art Theory & Art History. His essays have dealt with topics such as contemporary foreign and Chinese literature, aesthetics and fine arts.

He has taught college English since 1999, and E-C translation and literary theories since 2018, at School of Translation Studies, Shandong University at Weihai. He regards teaching as a kind of art as well as a skill. He attaches great importance to the integration of knowledge and practice, education and recreation, and mutual respect in his teaching, which is well accepted and acclaimed by his students.
